Imagine Peace Tour

The Imagine Peace Tour is a gui­ded even­ing tour dedica­ted to Yoko Ono’s Imagine Peace Tower and Lennon’s and Ono’s cont­inu­ing campaign for world peace.

It starts with hotel pick up, a ferry ride to Viðey island, and a gui­ded walk to the Imagine Peace Tower with int­erest­ing stopovers on the way. The tour unites history, art and nature in an int­erest­ing way and the ever chang­ing weather conditi­ons play an int­erest­ing part in highlighting the strength, intensity and brilli­ance of the Imagine Peace Tower's light.

Every year, the Imagine Peace Tower lig­hts up the even­ing sky in Reykjavík from October 9th (Lennon’s day of birth) through to December 8th (Lennon’s dem­ise). In addition, the Imagine Peace Tower also illuminates the nights from the win­ter solstice to the New Year, for one week dur­ing the spring equinox and on a few other selected dates.

We start the tour at Ægis­garður in Reykjavík’s Old Har­bour. The sail­ing to Viðey island takes about 20 minu­tes and then our guide will walk with you to the Imagine Peace Tower where you will learn about this magnificent work of art as well as the history and nature surround­ing it. If you are lucky the Northern lig­hts might app­ear too, shimmer­ing above you!

• December 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th and 30th at 18:00
• December 31st at 16:00
• February 18th at 20:00
• March 20th to 26th at 21:00

Pickups from hotels and guest­houses in the capital area are availa­ble for an additi­onal fee and start 45 minu­tes before the tour.
